Note that pets are completely randomized every time. Note: These pets may not include a normal or golden variant. Each tier can store randomly from 1-6 pets before going out of stock.
Rarer pets may appear on higher respect level slots. Leveling up Respect unlocks extra pet slots (up to 3). Respect is gained from purchasing pets from the Traveling Merchant or Mysterious Merchant. Respect is the leveling system for the Traveling Merchant. The stock on respect level three can go up to five, and it is possible to have nothing on stock on respect level three. It also seems as if Merchant's stock varies from server to server, most notably that it has a limit of pets in stock per each server, possibly making the Merchant from VIP servers most worthwhile as no other player in the server will be able to buy the pets ahead of you. The pets were deemed overpowered and the price to be too low. Preston nerfed the Traveling Merchant and Mystery Merchant in the Glitch update. There is also Mysterious Merchant, selling pets 65% lower compared to the Traveling Merchant.

It broadcasts a chat message on the server when it arrives: "Traveling Merchant has arrived!" and stays for 10 minutes before departing, which leaves a chat message saying, “Traveling Merchant has departed.” The Traveling Merchant offers 3 different pets, which can be in their Normal, Golden, or Rainbow variations. It spawns in the Shop and is more expensive than the Mysterious Merchant. The Traveling Merchant is a mini "shop" added on September 4, 2021.
